I'm a career livestreamer, writer, and independent filmmaker with a background in childcare and convenience store merchandising who has indeed played a GTA game before. 4 being one of my favorite games ever, 5 being one I don't think is very good, sorry!
After spending a year of my life sorting and facing candy bars and chip bags in gas stations, I've been cursed with an eye for small details, which I've brought to my online output. Getting to play games for a living has turned me into someone who loves to think about games and everything that goes into making them feel alive. I also made an 10 hour edit of the Nostalgia Critic movies with my sister, where we replicated their writing and cinematography, adding ourselves to turn them into new films entirely, though that feels a little less relavent here.
This website links back to nearly everything I've ever made. Here's what may be pertinent to you.
writing and research (for hazel youtube)
I've worked with my sister Hazel on her YouTube channel (hazel) as a writer, researcher, and visual editor.
Our most intensive “video essay” project was a full alternate universe retrospective on the last two decades of internet horror (483k views.) Crafting 20+ fake stories with a cavalcade of new visuals, parallel to creepypasta in our history. Playfully lying to say something more honestly.
In a similar niche to yours, I worked with her on her video analyzing spaces in Pokémon games (300k views), I helped write the video and additionally captured footage.
Merchandising and childcare
With 1000+ hours of my limited time on this lost to menial shelf stocking labor, I've tried to find the silver lining. I have been to and worked with about 300 locally run convenience stores, gas stations, and family groceries spread out across the east coast and am intimate with how they're laid out and why they're laid out that way.
I've also worked over 6 years in childcare, fighting to make engaging lesson plans that actually work for kids who don't give a fuck. I was on the bleeding edge of 67. It sucked!
filmmaking and streaming
I've streamed for a few years now on this spectrum between creature-feature practical effect-driven live streams, multicamera horror arg projects, and like, normal Twitch streams.I love to push the limit of what's expected from "disposable video content."
The experience of playing while commentating year after year has also given me the tools to analyze and breakdown a games construction.
The screener for my debut horror film Divine Hammer that I directed, wrote, and starred in alongside my sister will also come attached to this email. It's good! I like it. I think you would too.
additional facts
I've lived on the east coast, in the PNW, and have spent 72 hours in Florida, which was one of the worst weeks of my life.
this is my favorite youtube video: xbox 360 song
I used to go camping every month and spent 5 years working at summer camps. So I know like trees and knots and stuff.
this is my favorite movie: crank
I have access to an Elgato HD60s, PS5, XBS, PC, Capture Moded 3DS, PS3, PS2, PS1, 360, Wii, and, of course, a Wii U.
this is my favorite clip from my twitch channel: maeschildhood
I am writing a video game about a failing relationship with my girlfriend Aracelis. Our relationship is not failing. I just want to make a game about love that doesn't end at "save the princess." I am thrilled to soon be btfo by Rockstars writers.
At launch, I already plan to put 100's of hours into GTA 6, pouring over it the same way I did 4 and other games I've streamed. If I can help contribute to your videos and lead to people thinking about these games a little harder, I would love that.
